Self-Screening Form:  We once again are asking that all students/parents and staff self-screen prior to coming to school.  Please utilize the appropriate self-screening form to help determine if your student can come to school.  There are new self-screening forms available on the webpage or by clicking here:

Exposure to a Positive Case:  When there is a positive case at school, the families of students in the same class(es) as the student who tested positive will be notified.  If your student was determined to be a "close contact" (within 6 feet for greater than 15 minutes), you will receive an additional communication informing you that your student was in close contact with a known positive.  Close contacts who are vaccinated will continue to be allowed to come to school (recommended to be tested).  Close contacts who are not vaccinated are eligible for the new modified quarantine (see below).

Modified Quarantine:   Modified Quarantine means students who were exposed to a positive case of COVID-19 in school can continue to come to school as long as they were masked when exposed, are asymptomatic, and ECS has consent to do COVID-19 testing at school.  If one of those criteria are not met, then a 10-day quarantine would be required (potentially can be shortened to 7 days with a negative COVID-19 test after the 5th day of exposure).  Below are some links to some helpful information which can explain the modified quarantine procedure further:

Quarantine Outside of School:  If a student does need to quarantine outside of school, there is the option of short-term independent study.  Short-term independent study runs through each school site, and will not require a transfer to the Center for Independent Study.  If your student has tested positive for COVID-19, or is not eligible for the modified quarantine procedure, please discuss with the school site about signing a (short-term) independent study contract.

COVID-19 Testing at School Sites: ECS is currently able to offer Antigen (rapid) and PCR (lab-based) COVID-19 tests for all students who were exposed to a positive case at school and who wish to, and are eligible to, participate in the modified quarantine procedure.  Guardian consent will be requested for all students prior to participating in COVID-19 testing and will be required for all students under the age of 13.  (Students 13 and older can consent themselves for COVID-19 testing.)
