2014 Bond Measure S

Citizens’ Oversight Committee Member Needed

Application for Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee

On November 4, 2014, voters in the Eureka City Schools District passed Measure S and on March 3, 2020, Measure T was passed, authorizing up to $49,750,000 and $18,000,000, respectively, in District general obligation bonds. As a result, Eureka City Schools formed a Measure S and Measure T Bond Citizens’ Oversight Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to advise the Governing Board and inform the public regarding bond construction projects, their costs, and to ensure these projects are within the scope of the bonds. The Committee actively reviews and reports on the proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money for school construction.

The Committee is seeking members to serve on the Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC) for the two following positions:

parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District
member of the community at-large

The deadline for applications is January 28, 2022.

Information about the Measure S and Measure T Bond Citizens’ Oversight Committee and application forms are available at Eureka City Schools, 2100 J Street by calling 707-441-2412, or at the District’s website: www.eurekacityschools.org.

Application for Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee

An independent survey of voters in the Eureka City School District shows strong support for a potential 2014 bond measure to repair aging, deteriorating schools throughout the District.
