Welcome back! We have exciting new things happening this year with Eureka City School’s Food Services Department. This will be the first year we are able to have schools participate in the new Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Alice Birney, Grant, Lafayette, Washington, Winship and Zoe Barnum are approved by the California Department of Education (CDE) for this program. What does this mean to you? It means that all of the students enrolled at one of these six schools will now receive breakfast and lunch for FREE. There is no meal application required and all students can participate. Your student will still give their student I.D number to the food service worker at the cash register but there is NO CHARGE. We would like to ask you to voluntarily complete the alternate income data form to ensure your child’s school continues to receive all of the funding necessary to provide student equipment and instructional material. This form is confidential and easy to complete. Only families at one of the CEP schools need to fill out the alternate income data form.

If your student attends Zane or Eureka High School you will need to complete a meal application and return to the food service department. You can get this form at your child’s school or download from the link at the bottom of this page. If you received a letter in the mail from us prior to the start of the school year, you do not need to take any further action. There is no charge for students eligible for free or reduced price meals.

Breakfast is served each morning 30 minutes before the start of the school day. Students in grades 6-12 have a second chance to get breakfast later in the morning if they missed the early breakfast. Lunch is served daily at all schools. A FREE after school meal is offered to all students enrolled in the ASES programs and all students at Eureka High School.

All meals meet the state and federal nutritional guidelines. We are committed to providing healthy, high quality meals to your children. We source local products as often as possible. Menus for all schools can be located at They will be available beginning August 22, 2018. For any questions, please feel free to contact the Director of Food Services, Laura Chase, at 441-2501 or email

Thank you and we look forward to serving your students!
