EHS Music Spring Trip a Big Hit!

The EHS Symphonic Band. String Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble traveled to Southern California during the Spring break. Their first stop was at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa where they performed in a concert with the Montgomery High Band. The following day was spent traveling to Anaheim and to the Pantages Theater to see a production of Wicked. Excellent show!


On Saturday, the groups performed in the Heritage Festivals competition. Scores and awards are given based on national standards in music education. Award levels included GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE and MERIT. Schools are able to place in each level, but distinction is given to the top three scoring schools in each level.

  • The EHS String Orchestra received a 2nd Place Gold Award.
  • The Symphonic Band received a 3rd Place Gold Award.
  • The Jazz Ensemble received a 1st Place Gold Award.
  • The Jazz Ensemble also received the Adjudicators Award for Outstanding Jazz Group.
  • Lead Alto Saxophone player and Senior, Kevin Miller was also awarded the Maestros Award for Outstanding Jazz Soloist.
