Eureka High Students Give the Gift of Life

Eureka High School, along with the North Coast Blood Bank, held their Fall Blood Drive on December 3 and 4.  Five EHS students, Bailey Langlois, Tanner Levitt, Jordan Thayer, Shy Whittington, and Paige Harris, organized the event as part of their Service Learning project in the EHS EAST Community Leadership class. During the two days, 137 students, staff, and community members donated a total of 97 pints of blood. Nearly 40 thousand pints of blood are used each day in the United States, and high school donors make up 10-12% of all donors.  The EHS students are now making plans for the Spring Blood Drive to be held in April or May.
