POSITION: Sign Language Interpreter/Tutor                                                                                                                                                                                         SITE: Eureka High School

HOURS: 5 hrs/week, may be flexible. Schedule to be determined, based on student’s needs and employee availability plus time for team/IEP meetings

10 month position, 180 day school year

All applicants must submit a completed Eureka City Schools District Classified application form along with a copy of a Para Professional Certificate OR a copy of a valid California Teaching Credential to the Personnel Office. These are the only two certifications Eureka City Schools accepts for Instructional Assistant positions. If you do not have a Para Professional Certificate, OR a valid California teaching credential, please contact the Humboldt County Office of Education at 445-7039 to schedule an appointment for the Para Professional exam and make a notation of your appointment on your application. This position also requires a valid certificate of proficiency issued by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent. In lieu of certification, a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter (ESSE-I/R) or the National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (NAD/ACCI).
