Letter - Communication Procedures
- Published: Monday, September 4, 2017
Dear Parents and Staff:
Eureka City Schools (ECS) places a high value on principals and other administrators spending as much time as possible in the classroom supporting teachers, and watching and participating in student learning. Recently, administrators and principals, along with their secretaries and administrative staff, attended training involving office organization and techniques for more efficient time and calendar structuring. This training has caused ECS to change its procedure when a meeting or telephone call is requested, with the ultimate goal of allowing for the administrator or principal’s undivided attention to a parent or staff member on a specific date and time.
We take the education of our students seriously and understand the impact a site leader can have by being in the classroom participating in student learning. We also understand there are times when parents and staff members need to meet with site leaders. Our new practices will allow this communication to occur in an efficient and timely manner.
We value your time and want to make sure you receive our full and undivided attention when we meet. As such, it is requested parents and staff schedule meetings with site leaders, in advance, through the secretary or administrative assistant. Following this protocol will help insure you receive our complete uninterrupted attention regarding any issues or concerns you would like to discuss.
Our commitment in this process is to be on time to the appointments you schedule and to give you our full attention.
Thank you in advance for working with us to help make your child’s educational experience and your interactions with site leaders more productive. We believe the District’s commitment to this process be beneficial to parents, students and administrators alike.
