Superintendent Gregg Haulk's back to school welcome & introduction

Eureka City Schools Employees,

The local papers are starting to advertise their sales, stay at home parents are beginning to smile more, and many students cannot wait until they get to wear their new clothes and shoes that are “just for school” for the first time! It is time to come Back to School.

I invite you to please join me for a Welcome Back gathering on Monday, August 27 where I will be delivering a short welcome and introduction. This will take place in the cafeteria at Zane Middle School and will begin at 8:30 a.m. Additional parking will be available on the lower basketball courts.

A note about summer construction; Eureka High School is not yet finished, but will be far enough along that we can have students on campus, and the Lafayette office is still being completed. There are other “projects” that are finishing up, but when the students arrive the facilities will be ready. A huge thank you to our maintenance people, custodians, administrators and classified employees who have dealt with relocating because of closed construction areas, worked through the testing of fire alarms, and other inconveniences this summer to make sure our sites are ready for the mass return to school.

I am looking forward to a fantastic school year and the opportunity to meet and speak to each of you on your sites during the school year. I’ll see you on the 27th to kick off the 2007/2008 school year.

Gregg Haulk, Superintendent
Eureka City Schools
