Here is an excerpt from one of her nomination letters:
Maikken exemplifies excellence in teaching; she truly loves her job and puts in countless extra hours working on curriculum and helping fellow teachers. She has never lost the passion for teaching and the love for her students. Maikken is always willing to try new strategies and grow as a teacher. She is constantly reflecting on her practice, researching new ideas, and collaborating with fellow teachers and administrators. Maikken also has a knack for reading the needs of kindergarten parents, which has proven very helpful when balancing classes before the year begins. She has great classroom management skills and can ensure good, positive student behavior and an overall sense of respect in the classroom.
Congratulations to Maikken Bass for this well-deserved award.
