Posted on 03/26/2021
The District and the Eureka Teachers Association (ETA) met for a second day of 2021-22 contract negotiations on March 26, from 9 am-1 pm. ETA presented a counterproposal on most of the items contained in the District’s comprehensive package proposal from March 19, with some items still pending. The proposal encompassed some movement and some agreement on various articles proposed by the District.

Notably, ETA proposed:

-A three-year deal reflecting ongoing salary increases of 5%, 2%, and 1% in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24, respectively.

-An ongoing increase to employee benefits, beginning July 1, 2021.

In response, the District presented a comprehensive counterproposal, defaulting to its proposal from March 19 on items where ETA was still gathering information to inform its proposal, and reflecting some movement and some agreement on various articles proposed by ETA.

For the most part, the District’s and ETA’s proposals remain the same as outlined in the previous negotiations update.

The parties meet for a third day of negotiations on April 13, 2021 at which point ETA will present a counterproposal to the District after consulting with its membership.
