Nutrition Services Update

Curbside meal pickup is available at the following times and locations:

Hello and Welcome Back! We have an interesting and challenging year ahead of us. It seems like changes are happening daily here in Food Services. The most recent announcement comes from the USDA. The waiver to serve free meals to all children has been extended through the end of December 2020. This means that our students and all children and youth age 18 and under can go to any one of our curbside locations and pick up free meals even if that is not their school of enrollment. Breakfast, lunch and supper will be in “grab and go” bags for easy transport.

Alice Birney, Grant, Lafayette, Washington, Zane Middle School and Eureka High School will be open daily from 11-1 for meal pick-up. You can pick up meals at one site, one time daily per child. The child does not need to be present but we will ask for their name and what school they attend for our records. We will notify families of future changes with notices in the meal bags and you will find messages on our website under “the news”. If your child requires a meal accommodation, you will need to have a licensed physician or nurse practitioner complete the Special Meal Accommodation Form and return to our food service office or a curbside location. You can locate this form by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page for English or Spanish.

All meals meet the state and federal nutritional guidelines. We are committed to providing healthy, high quality meals to your children. During this period of Covid-19, we have experienced supply issues on occasion and menus are subject to change without notice. We will try to continue to incorporate local produce when we can. We have been fortunate to serve local green and yellow zucchini, broccoli and lettuce from Earthly Edibles in August and used their sweet Walla Walla onions for our entrees.
