New Books at EHS
- Published: Friday, October 21, 2016
The Eureka High School Library and Learning Commons recently received over 60 new books with a focus on diversity. Corin Balkovek, Library Tech at Eureka High School (EHS) and Master’s of Library and Information Science student at San Jose State University wrote a Donor’s Choose project which was funded by Chevron – Fuel Your School. As stated in the project write-up, the aim at Eureka High School is to provide our students a comprehensive education, empowering them into becoming successful adults. As important as it is to provide students with the academic skills to be successful in their future, it is equally important to empower them with the skills to be culturally-aware, empathetic global citizens. Through these books, the library’s goal is to provide EHS students with a wider perspective of the world in order for them to move beyond one’s own immediate environment.
