August 23, 2010 Kathleen was born and raised in Eureka attending local schools. She began her career with Eureka City Schools as a student teacher at Washington Elementary and became a full-time teacher at Washington in 3rd and 6th grades. When Zane and Winship transitioned into middle schools, Kathleen moved to Zane to teach 6th grade. Eventually she added a half-time position as Zane’s Student Services Coordinator until moving into the position of Assistant Principal. After a year, she accepted the Assistant Principal position at Eureka High School. Kathleen has come full circle and returns to her roots at Washington as the new Principal. |

August 16, 2010 Due to construction on Harris Street, the District Office will be without electricity all day on August 17, 2010. As a result, the main office for Eureka City Schools at 3200 Walford Avenue will be closed. The office will be open and regular business will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18. Thank you. |
