“Take the School Breakfast Challenge” Encourages Eureka City Schools’ Students to Choose Breakfast at School
Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for families to find time for a healthy breakfast. However, US Department of Agriculture data show that more students are starting their day with a nutritious breakfast in their school cafeterias. To encourage more families to take advantage of the healthy choices available with school breakfast, Eureka City Schools will recognize National School Breakfast Week during March 6-10, 2017.
The National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) campaign theme, “School Breakfast Challenge,” reminds the entire school community that school breakfast provides a healthy, energizing start to the day. Elementary students are encouraged to “Take the Challenge” from March 6-10 with special promotions, and decorations in the cafeteria. We will have a fun give-away each day at Washington, Lafayette, Alice Birney, and Grant.
