Grant Elementary School students will benefit from pedestrian safety improvements in the neighborhood. Thanks to the Safe Routes to Schools Eureka Task Force collaborative, the Humboldt County Public Works Department received grant funding to install pedestrian safety infrastructure. Improvements include a raised crosswalk in front of the school on Oak Street, a new crosswalk at the F and Oak Street intersection with a pedestrian safety median and American’s with Disabilities compliant sidewalks. Work is expected to be completed by the beginning of school on August 25.
